Message from our President:
Okay, let’s see, by a raise of hands, who is ready to come out and play? This pandemic is done. It’s time for us to come out of our basements and see the outdoors, see some people. I’m no medical expert, so whatever I say doesn’t really matter. But it looks to me like the vaccine is doing it’s job. Almost no one who got the vaccine has then gotten COVID. And… of those few that did get COVID, no one died from it. I don’t think anyone has even been hospitalized for COVID after receiving the vaccine. The number of new cases and new deaths in Utah has dropped and plateaued at a lower level.
Everyone in our age group has had a chance to get vaccinated by now. So, either a) you’ve been vaccinated and you can be around people, or b) you believe you don’t need the vaccine for whatever reason so you must be superhuman and, as such, you can be around people, or c) you want to get the vaccine but don’t know how to use a telephone to schedule an appointment. Those folks should probably just stay in their basements. (In case you missed my tongue-in-cheek, it would be right here, but I can’t figure out how to do an emoji.) 🙂
So, it’s time to make this motorcycle club a club again. For the last year, we’ve been doing the weekly rides, but no club dinners or meetings, and only a few small overnight rides. Watch for an email message to the club announcing a planning meeting, in the next few days, with the intent to schedule social events and rides for the rest of this year and assign people to plan and organize them.
Oh, and by the way, if you’re just not yet comfortable about socializing face to face, then don’t do it. We really do understand.
