Drifters Newsletter September 2017
Drifters September 2017 Newsletter
According to meteorological data, summer is over, and I am looking forward to some enjoyable fall riding weather without risking heat stroke! The hot weather may have been the reason there were no takers on the Kanab Western Days ride that had been planned for August 24th. Of course, we had quite a few folks out of town or busy with house guests.
The big event for August was our Drifter Dinner at Rusty’s Ranch House in Cedar City on August 28th. Even without some of the usual suspects, we still had a great turnout with 19 people showing up to feast on Rusty’s fabulous offerings. Rusty’s is a local gem that is not to be missed! Our club “newbies’ were duly impressed and plan on re-visiting often.
September is here, and we have several Drifter events coming up:
Thursday September 14th is our annual Day Ride to the Antimony Merc for lunch
Wednesday the 20th is our monthly Drifter Dinner – this time at Verla’s Country Café in Enterprise
Sunday, September 24th through Wednesday, September 27th is our 4-night destination ride to Minden, Nevada – staying at the Carson Valley Inn – with a nice selection of day-rides planned during our stay
Be sure to check the Events Calendar section on this site for more extensive information on the above-mentioned outings.
Our weekly rides continue on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday – more info can be found on the Events Calendar as well.
As always, please feel free to suggest Drifter rides or events and I will be happy to get the word out to all Drifters. If you suggest a ride, please provide particulars, such as mileage, gas/food stops and events or sights to be seen. Day or overnight ride suggestions are welcomed!
