Drifters Newsletter July 2017

Hello Drifters. Happy July!

Just got back from Margrete’s wonderful 4th of July party… If you didn’t make it, then you really missed out! Margrete outdid herself this year (who thought that was possible?) with scrumptious bbq ribs, amazing sweet corn on the cob, and a to-die-for broccoli salad!  This was topped off with cold sweet watermelon and a killer chocolate cake! Margrete put Texas Roadhouse to shame!

The party began at 6pm, and most of us stayed inside and enjoyed the chips, homemade salsa, veggies and dip, until it cooled off enough to venture outside. The pool was just right – some of us did a few laps and some of us just danged our feet in the water, while we sat and enjoyed great company and conversation.

To those of you that got out of Dodge, you were sorely missed, but that meant all the more ribs for the rest of us! YUMMY!

The heat so far this summer has been brutal! We have a few hearty souls that continue to ride – especially our Northern riders. I for one can’t take the heat, so until this lets up, I’ll be inside catching up on several projects.

There is a Drifter ride to the North Rim coming up on Friday, July 21. You may see me out on my iron horse then, if it’s under 100 degrees outside. I’ll keep you posted! Meanwhile, keep cool, and keep the shiny side up!
