Drifters Newsletter August 2018
From The Editor……..
Its going to be a wonderful August here in the Palmetto State, South Carolina!!!!!!! Hey, wait, we are in southwest Utah! My mistake, but with the heat AND the humidity anyone could be fooled. My Bad!
Its still going to be an exciting August for all us Drifters. First we have our annual BBQ at Dewayne and Kathy’s at their rustic and bucolic rancho in historic and charming Brookside north of Veyo. Here, Drifters will do what they do best……chow down! This year the club will be providing, free of charge, scrumptious steaks, to all paid membership club members. You must call or email our esteemed treasurer, Lynne Piper, to reserve your steak. Its also a potluck affair and everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish to share. So we don’t end up with twenty bean salads discuss with Lynne what you might bring so we have a good variety of items. You can also bring your own steaks, burgers, fish, hot dogs, etc. to BBQ yourself. Rumor has it that Jon Kromroy is considering asking for a one day only membership in order to qualify for a steak. Those who have not paid their dues will have to pony up. Don’t try to slide by! We know who you are! See details about the BBQ in the newsletter.
Our first overnight ride of the year has been planned by veteran ride leader, Vern Gillahan. The ride is one of the premier rides in the united states, up Utah’s famous Hwy. 12 over Boulder Mountain to Torrey,Utah. Riders from all over the country, even the world, come to Utah to notch their belts with Hwy. 12. Its often found on lists of the top ten rides in the world. DON”T MISS THIS ONE !
Details for the Torrey ride are found in the newsletter too. The code word this time is “chrome”. Call or email our webmaster, Dawn, give her the code word to be entered in the drawing for a $25 prize!
